The
school was started in 1982 by Rector, Sri Somnath Mitra
with 35 students, main idea being propagation of education
in English medium among middle class children. Very
soon LYCÉE became one of the most sought after
school amongst the guardians of school going children
and with its affiliation to the Council for the Indian
School Certificate Examination in 1993, there was no
looking back. The school was handed over to a society
in 1992 and is run by Suneha Education Society wherein
Mr. Somnath Mitra being the Chairman and Sharmila Mitra
is the Secretary.
Today
LYCÉE is a big family of approximately 2000 students,
75 dedicated & competent teachers and 30 hardworking
non – teaching staff headed by the Rector Mr.
Somnath Mitra and the Principal Sharmila Mitra.
The
school is housed in three separate buildings. Nursery
and Primary departments run from 19, Mahanirban Road
and 139, R. B. Avenue, while the middle school and Secondary
classes are held at 10/1, Hindusthan Road. |
